The Pursuit College Ministry of Bethany Church exists to challenge and equip college age students to "flee the evil desires of youth, and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord" (2 Timothy 2:22).
Proverbs Series Verse Lists
The last part of this Spring 2011 semester we went through a series on Proverbs where we looked at what the Wisdom of God has to say about various topics of life! Though there is a LOT more in this book for us all to spend time reading, we covered 4 topics that are some of the more repeated themes of the book: Speech, Money, Humility, and Friendship. Ladies Nights!
About once a month, the women of the Pursuit gather together for a "girl’s night." These were started with the intention of building community amongst the girls in the group as we fellowship together and discuss life. From studying Proverbs 31 to discussing set-apartness as Godly women, every month has been so inspiring and refreshing.
If You Had Enough Faith...
There is an interesting episode from Jesus’ life recorded in Matthew 17:14-20. A man comes to Jesus begging him to have mercy on his son. The boy has seizures which often throw him into fire or water. The boy’s father doesn’t say it is demonic oppression, but he did bring the boy to Jesus’ disciples, and they couldn’t heal him! It then seems as if Jesus almost gets frustrated, and says, “Why do you all have such little faith! Come on! Bring the boy here!” At which point He “rebukes the demon” in the boy, it leaves him, and the boy becomes well.
New Orleans Trip Recap
On June 5-12, a team of 14 of us went to New Orleans to serve those who are still displaced from Hurricane Katrina. It was an amazing trip, and since many have been asking, I want to share my memories, thoughts, and things I learned. I'm breaking this up into two main sections. First, I'll share my top ten memories, the fun, the sights, the raw experiences.
Thursday Nights - Small Groups
On Thursday Nights at 7pm we gather together to worship our Lord, encourage one another in the Faith, and break up into small groups that study the Bible and share life together. Small groups are really the key way to build significant relationships in the community of Christ and to take a significant step forward in truly living out your faith.
